Success of Ginger.io’s on-demand behavioral health offering for BuzzFeed’s US-based employees drives expansion of benefit to Canada, Australia and Germany

SAN FRANCISCO, June 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ginger.io, the leader in on-demand behavioral health, announced today the expansion of its emotional support offering to employees at BuzzFeed, the leading independent digital media company delivering news and entertainment to hundreds of millions of people around the world. Ginger.io’s on-demand coaching, therapy and psychiatry services have been available to BuzzFeed’s US employees for over a year; this week, the coaching program expanded beyond the US to include employees in Canada, Australia and Germany.

Research from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that over 350 million people worldwide suffer from depression and the impact on the economy is an estimated $1 trillion per year of lost productivity. Behavioral health care that can work around the demanding schedules isn’t always available. When BuzzFeed was looking for improvements in offerings for mental health benefits, they turned to Ginger.io who offered the opportunity to connect to behavioral health care solutions quickly and via mobile, far different from traditional market offerings. In the first year alone, 25% of US-based BuzzFeed employees engaged with a Ginger.io service -- and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. On average, BuzzFeed employees have rated their Ginger.io sessions a 4.4 out of 5 stars.

“We believe in offering a range of benefits and mental health solutions for our employees. That is why last year we launched Ginger.io’s mobile enabled solution, which offers real time coaching to our US employees. Ginger.io’s services have been well received and it was a natural next step to expand this offering to additional BuzzFeed offices in other parts of the world,” said Lenke Taylor, chief people officer at BuzzFeed. “Our partnership with Ginger.io furthers our mission to provide well-rounded benefits to our people.”

For today’s mobile-first world, Ginger.io is uniquely positioned to provide instant access to support for anyone in need of emotional support, right from their smartphone. Members can start chatting with a coach within 60 seconds of engaging with the app, at any time of day. Coaches are trained to help people with day-to-day challenges, such as reaching personal goals, improving relationships, and reducing stress. If necessary, Ginger.io can seamlessly escalate a member to therapy or psychiatry. Virtual sessions with one of Ginger.io’s therapists or psychiatrists within days, versus the national average of over six weeks. Over the last twelve months, 72% of Ginger.io members surveyed reported clinically significant improvements in symptoms of depression within twelve weeks.

“In the past, employers had no choice but to send their employees into a system fraught with long wait times and zero accountability,” said Anmol Madan, co-founder of Ginger.io. “We’re in the business of getting everyone better, faster, and we believe that our joint efforts with BuzzFeed improve access to care are a clear indicator of the bright future for this industry.”

*About Ginger.io*
Ginger.io makes it easy for people to get the emotional and mental support they need, when they need it, by providing on-demand coaching, therapy and psychiatry. Founded in 2011 by Dr. Anmol Madan and Karan Singh, Ginger.io is the only behavioral health provider that continuously uses AI & machine learning to improve both access to and quality of care for anyone managing symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression or more complex challenges. Will stunning ‘Blood Moon’ bring end of the world? Yes, says THIS group

$
0
0
A picturesque blood moon is all set to light the sky once again next month and according to doomsday preachers it will be the end of the world.

In exactly a month, if we are lucky and there is no thick cloud cover, we may have a chance to see a blood moon once again, as the 'largest lunar eclipse this century' is expected to be witnessed on July 27, 2018.

This eclipse will be the longest in this century and is expected to last for more than 100 minutes. It is expected to occur on July 27-28 at 7.30 pm UTC (12 am IST) and end at 9.13 pm UTC (1.43 am IST).

While stargazers will enjoy the spectacular phenomenon, doomsdayers and religious preachers are preparing for armageddon.

The end-of-days preachers predict some kind of a tragic event which is likely to end the world. However, the theory has surfaced drom similar thinkres and the prophecy. The 'blood moon' theory originated from the Book of Joel which says: "The sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into the blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes."

"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood," Book of Revelations. However, these theories have been routinely dismissed by astronomers and other experts as a myth.

Scientists suggest that the red coloured tinge of the moon is due to ayleigh scattering of sunlight through the Earth's atmosphere. This also causes the redness in the sunset.

The total lunar eclipse - when the moon passes behind Earth and into its shadow - will last one hour and 43 minutes over July 27-28.

It will be visible across much of Europe and Asia, and in Australia, southern parts of North America, and South America.

Trump threatens Harley-Davidson again, says the company 'should stay 100% in America' after 'I've done so much for you'

· *President Donald Trump once against attacked Harley-Davidson via Twitter.*
· *The attacks come after Harley announced it would shift some motorcycle outside of the US due to Trump's trade fight with the European Union.*
· *"Harley-Davidson should stay 100% in America, with the people that got you your success," Trump tweeted.*

--------------------

President Donald Trump renewed his attacks on motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson on Wednesday, laying into the company on Twitter.

"Harley-Davidson should stay 100% in America, with the people that got you your success," Trump tweeted. "I’ve done so much for you, and then this. Other companies are coming back where they belong! We won’t forget, and neither will your customers or your now very HAPPY competitors!"

On Monday, Harley announced that it would shift some of its production outside of the US due to Trump's trade fight with the European Union. Trump's decision to impose a 25% tariff in steel imports to the US had already hurt Harley's business. But the announcement of EU tariffs on US-made motorcycles as a response to the steel tariff appears to have been the last straw.

The company had previously announced an investment in a Thailand-based production facility, saying it was because of Trump's decision to withdraw the US from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Harley operates facilities in Brazil, India, and Australia in addition to the Thai plant.

While Trump's policies continually hit the motorcycle company, Harley previously enjoyed a fairly tight relationship with the president. Executives from the company visited the White House in February 2017 and Trump continually brought up Harley as an example of a strong American business.

That close bond was broken following Harley's announcement, prompting Trump to go on a days-long campaign against the iconic company.

"A Harley-Davidson should never be built in another country-never!" Trump tweeted Tuesday. "Their employees and customers are already very angry at them. If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end - they surrendered, they quit! The Aura will be gone and they will be taxed like never before!"
